Content License

Archive License

All content within The Archive is governed by the following license framework. Administration and enforcement of this license is the responsibility of Archive Operations under the ALR Initiative.

Default License

Unless otherwise stated, all content preserved within The Archive is licensed under:

Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 (CC BY-SA 4.0)

This license applies to all documentation, Echo entries, Reality Investigation Reports, device records, organizational records, and derivative materials produced under the ALR Initiative unless a specific exception has been noted within the entry itself.

Permissions

Under this license, you are free to:

  • Share — reproduce and distribute content in any medium or format
  • Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose

Provided that the following conditions are met:

  • Attribution is given to the ALR Initiative and, where applicable, to named contributing personnel
  • Derivative works are shared under the same license as the original material

ALR-Specific Clause

All derivative works produced from The Archive must additionally preserve:

  • Narrative integrity — the internal consistency and established lore of the ALR universe
  • Classification structure — the use of established ALR classification systems including RTS, RDS, RCC, EC, and ESC designations
  • Archive formatting conventions — adherence to documented entry formats as maintained within The Archive

Derivative works that materially misrepresent the ALR classification record, contradict formally established Archive entries, or reproduce restricted content without authorization are considered outside the scope of this license regardless of attribution.

Submitted Content

By submitting content to the ALR Initiative, contributors agree to the terms of this license as described above and as further detailed in the Terms-of-Submission. Submitted content that is accepted and integrated into The Archive becomes subject to all applicable licensing terms upon archival.

Exceptions

Certain entries within The Archive may be subject to licensing restrictions beyond those described above. These include entries containing:

  • Restricted materials designated for limited personnel access
  • Redacted content withheld under Archive Operations authority
  • Special classifications assigned by the Echo Research Division or the Reality Investigation Division

Content falling under these exceptions may not be freely reusable under the standard license. Queries regarding the licensing status of restricted entries should be directed to Archive Operations.
