Echoes

Concept Classification

Subject: Echo Phenomena Document Authority: ALR Initiative

Description

Echoes are anomalous phenomena believed to originate from realities that have collapsed and entered the state known as The Unwritten.

When a reality ceases to continue, fragments of its structure may persist in altered form. These fragments can manifest as entities, objects, locations, or environmental phenomena that no longer belong to an active reality. Such remnants are collectively referred to as Echoes.

The study and documentation of Echoes is one of the primary research efforts of the ALR Initiative, as these anomalies provide valuable insight into the processes involved in reality collapse.

E.C.H.O. Designation

Formal Designation

Within official documentation, Echoes are designated using the acronym:

E.C.H.O. — Extradimensional Collapsed Hazardous Objects

This designation is applied to anomalous phenomena believed to originate from a collapsed reality. Each recorded Echo is assigned a unique numerical identifier for archival documentation.

Formation

Origin Process

Echoes are believed to form during the final stages of reality collapse. As the structural systems of a reality break down, fragments of that world may separate from the collapsing environment and persist independently.

These remnants can take several forms, including entities, objects, locations, events, and environmental phenomena. Once separated from their origin reality, these remnants are documented as Echoes.

Manifestation

Cross-Reality Appearance

Echoes may appear within other realities after their origin world has collapsed. These manifestations often occur unpredictably and may remain stable for extended periods of time. Some Echoes have been observed appearing in multiple locations across different realities.

Because of this behavior, Echoes are considered one of the most significant indicators of reality collapse events.

Classification

Documentation Systems

All documented Echoes are categorized using standardized classification systems maintained by the ALR Initiative:

These systems allow consistent documentation of Echo phenomena across investigation records.

Echo Registry

Documented Echoes

All formally documented Echoes are catalogued within the ECHO Registry.

Role in the Archive

Archive Function

Records of all documented Echoes are preserved within The Archive. Through the study and documentation of Echo phenomena, the ALR Initiative continues to expand its understanding of collapsed realities and preserve the historical record of worlds that no longer exist.
